Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The ECCV community is strongly committed to addressing issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) at our conference.  Diversity has many dimensions, including but not limited to gender, race, ethnicity, age, disability, religious belief, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and cultural background. There is no place for hatred and discrimination in the ECCV community or elsewhere.

For ECCV 2024, the DEI Chairs are working with other members of the organizing committee to help foster a more inclusive, diverse and equitable conference. Specifically, we encourage the following:

  • improve diversity and inclusion in program organizers and invited speakers by including diversity, equity, and inclusivity as part of the evaluation criteria;
  • support affinity groups that are specifically aimed at building and nurturing networks to support communities that are currently not well represented at ECCV;
  • support for students to attend ECCV from communities that do not traditionally attend through travel grants and waived registration fees.

Travel Support

ECCV 2024 is committed to supporting students from communities that do not traditionally attend ECCV through registration and travel support. Allocation is based on a combination of need, contribution to the conference, where you are traveling from, the community(ies) you identify with and advisor support.

- If you would like to be considered for this support, please complete the following form by July 22 [anywhere on earth]:

- If you are selected for a registration waiver, this will be done either by: (a) reversing the charge if you have already registered (i.e., returning the money via bank transfer or refunding a card transaction); or (b) providing a free registration if you have not registered already.

- This means that if you plan to go to ECCV regardless of the grant, you can register early and get the early rate. If you will not go to ECCV without the travel program, then you should not pre-register and should instead wait to hear whether you have been selected as part of this program.

- If you have an advisor, please do not forget to send them to fill out this form, along with your preferred email:

If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback related to DEI efforts at ECCV 2024, or would like to get involved, please contact the DEI co-chairs (David Fouhey, Rita Cucchiara) by email at If you contacted the email address before July 5 please resend your message since a google groups configuration blocked some messages prior to that date.

We would like to thank the previous computer vision DEI chairs, particularly the ICCV 2023 chairs, for sharing their experiences with us.
